Ultrafiltration Systems

With the rapidly increasing use worldwide, ultrafiltration technology provides economical and efficient solutions for the advanced treatment of water.

Due to the ease of operation, high efficiency (up to 90%), and cost-effectiveness depending on the removal quality, ultrafiltration systems have become preferred in the field of water treatment.

Ultrafiltration modules, with a membrane structure having a pore size of 0.02 microns, serve as a complete barrier for bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms without the need for chemical usage. By retaining all particles larger than 0.02 microns, they demonstrate excellent filtration capability with a turbidity value of less than 0.1 NTU and effective removal of organic matter.

As it is known, one of the most common methods for removing microbiological contamination in drinking water is dosing chlorine into the water. Although chlorine dosing has a significant impact on the removal of microorganisms, it is not 100% effective. Microorganisms resistant to disinfectants, such as spore-forming microorganisms, can only be retained by ultrafiltration membranes. Since the pore sizes of the membranes used in ultrafiltration systems are smaller than the sizes of microorganisms, it is possible to purify water with 100% confidence.

In addition to providing excellent filtration of surface waters, ultrafiltration modules are widely used in wastewater reuse and pretreatment of seawater desalination systems. Thus, by reducing the load on the membranes in reverse osmosis systems, it extends their service life and improves water quality.
