It is an inhibitor-containing pH balancer, formulated particularly to neutralize the alkalinity of cooling tower circulating water and maintain the ambient pH balance. It reacts with calcium bicarbonate, which forms persistent hardness in water, to produce much more soluble salt compounds.

Thus, it enables the operation of the cooling tower at higher concentrations. It reduces deposit formation without causing corrosion and prevents the formation of limescale. It allows operation at higher concentrations.
